Episode 4 is here. Travel and Landscape Photography

HD is enabled for better viewing in full screen mode.

Travel and landscape photography is probably one of the most popular types of photography out there.  With pioneers like Ansel Adams, landscape photography has become the focus of many photographers passions to capture the beauty of the world around them.  As we travel to far off lands and exotic destinations, we also strive to take better photos then just the typical posed shot in front of the Eiffel Tower or a flat shot of a mountain.  This episode is dedicated to the types of things you may want to carry in your camera bag on trips, or websites that you can access for more information, as well as showing you some photos from other great photographers out there.

Ken Sklute is one of Canon’s 60 prestigious Explorers of Light.  This program is meant for the worlds top photographers to help educate and act as Canon ambassadors, teaching others and sharing their knowledge and abilities with others around the world.  Ken has been awarded this title 6 years ago and continues to teach and hold educational seminars and workshops around the country.  Ken was also named 2010 Landscape photographer of the year by the Professional Photographers of California. For more information see www.kensklute.com.

On top of seeing some of Ken’s amazing work, we also talk about travel bags and tips on traveling light.  Always carry on your camera equipment, never check it on.  Travel light, as your equipment and bag will get heavier and heavier as your hike around your travel destinations.  Also be aware of looking like you have expensive equipment as it makes you more of a target for theft.  If you’d like to see a checklist before you leave on your trip, check out http://upl.codeq.info.

Search for cheap tickets on Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, Travelzoo, ryanair.com, and attitudetravel.com. Look for travel books on Fodors, Frommers, Lonely Planet, and DK.

Also thank you to Garland Wong, Lori Harris, and Ian Corrigan for their travel photographers.  They were excellent and much appreciated.  Keep up the great work.

Stay tuned next week for our Sports Photography episode and our first guest appearance.

  1. Nathan ! For whatever it’s worth, I am SO proud of you. I knew when you were in my 4th grade class, you would be successful and it is so inspiring to see you not only being successful, but seeing your passion and knowing you love what you’re doing.
